Travelling with children in a taxi
Children make a journey longer, not harder — provided the car has enough room and the right restraint is fitted before you set off.
Seats and safety rules
- Children under 1.35 m must use a suitable restraint in a Dutch car.
- You may bring and fit your own child seat; tell us when booking.
- A booster seat is light and easy to carry on a flight.
- Children always travel in the back seat where possible.
Space and luggage
- A buggy counts as luggage and travels in the boot.
- Two child seats plus suitcases usually means an estate or minibus.
- State the number of children and their ages when booking.
Making the ride easier
Keep water, a snack and one favourite item within reach rather than in the boot. For early departures, dress children the night before and move them straight to the car. Tell the driver if a child is prone to travel sickness; a short stop is easier than the alternative.
