Taxi to the airport with children
With children, the journey to the airport is not the hard part — the transfers are. A pushchair, a car seat, three suitcases and a tired four-year-old do not combine well with a train platform at six in the morning.
A door-to-door transfer removes every transfer from the equation. Here is how to plan it.
Child seats and safety
- You may bring and fit your own child seat; mention it when booking.
- Dutch rules require children under 1.35 m to use a suitable restraint.
- A booster seat is compact and easy to take on the flight.
- Tell us how many children and what ages, so we plan the right car.
Timing with children
- Add 30 minutes to the standard margin for check-in with a family.
- Plan the pick-up so nobody has to be woken more than once.
- Keep snacks, water and one favourite toy within reach in the car.
- A buggy counts as luggage; it usually travels in the boot.
Luggage and space
A family of four with a week's luggage and a pushchair often needs more space than a saloon car offers. If you enter four or more large suitcases, the system selects a minibus automatically — and with young children, the extra room is worth it regardless of the suitcase count.
