Taxi at night in the Netherlands

After midnight the Dutch transport network thins out sharply outside the big cities. A pre-booked taxi is often the only reliable way home — or to an early flight.

At night we drive for exactly the same fixed price as during the day.

What to expect at night

  • The same fixed price as during the day; no night surcharge.
  • Fewer drivers on the road, so book 48 hours ahead where you can.
  • Quiet roads, but frequent night-time roadworks on motorways.
  • A driver assigned in advance with your name and address.

Practical safety

  • Wait inside until you see the car, then check the driver's name.
  • Share your ride details with someone at home.
  • Keep your phone charged; the driver may call on arrival.
  • Book the return leg before your evening starts.

Night rides to the airport

Most early flights need a pick-up between 02:30 and 04:30. Plan the full driving time even though the roads are empty, and allow for lane closures. We calculate the departure time from your flight so you do not have to guess.
